Refined elegance, on the Atlantic
The Pavilion of Refined Elegance
Fengyage, 风雅阁, "the pavilion of refined elegance," is a Chinese kitchen that found its home in the Essaouira medina. The idea is simple: cook real Chinese food, and let the famous Essaouira port do what it does best, supply the fish.

So the menu reads like two coasts at once: hand-folded pot stickers and hand-pulled noodles from China, beside prawns, squid, octopus and grouper landed a few streets away. Cold Sichuan starters, clay-pot chicken, mapo tofu, sweet-and-sour hairtail, cooked honestly, served generously, made to share.

The room matches the name: jade-green seats, hanging eucalyptus, blue-and-white porcelain, and a quiet upstairs with carved-wood windows. Tea comes in a glass pot. You are meant to slow down here.
